PTIAS MANY as 40 villagers were booked Monday for allegedly abetting suicide of three teenaged girls, who had ended their lives by jumping into a well at Dodwani village, about 30 km from here, police said.
The girls had together jumped into the well on January 27 and in suicide notes had alleged that the villagers were spreading false rumours linking them with a youth, who was a ‘brother-figure’ to them, Aamla police station in-charge Pradeep Mishra told reporters.
A case of abetting suicide was registered against the villagers, who were yet to be arrested, he added.
