Addressing a family planning programme review meeting at DIFPSA office on Friday, DM Abhijat directed the officials concerned to organise a special family planning camp at Dufferin Women’s Hospital and Tej Bahadur Sapru (Beli) Hospital on February 14.
He said the SDMs and BDOs should organise at least one family planning camp in their blocks in February and March to achieve cent per cent target by the end of the financial year.
The DM further said the district basic shiksha adhikari should ask teachers posted under him to actively participate in the family planning programme. At least two family planning cases should be managed by every school under the basic shiksha adhikari, he added.
He directed officiating chief medical officer Dr SC Gupta to make adequate arrangements of surgeons, paramedical staff and medicines at the family planning camp. The district information officer should organise cultural programmes at the camps to attract the attention of the local people, he added.
“The programme will be again reviewed on 10th, 20th and 28th of February and March. On these days, the deputy CMOs and medical officers are expected to present a complete report of the family planning cases conducted in their respective areas,” he said.
DIFPSA project manager Dr Meenakshi Tripathi said the district achieved 60 per cent family planning target.
