SZ team for Deodhar Trophy

Andhra skipper Y Venugopal Rao will lead the South Zone campaign in the Deodhar Trophy (inter-zonal one-dayers) to be played in Central Zone from February 25 to March 9.

After the chairmen of selection committees from all the six states met here on Thursday, convener and secretary of the Hyderabad Cricket Association announced the team. The team has five players from Tamil Nadu, four from Karnataka, three from Andhra, two from Kerala and one from Hyderabad.

Hyderabad’s N Rajesh Yadav was appointed coach though his team finished at the bottom of the table in the SZ Ranji one-dayers. Rao, along with S Badrinath, Dinesh Kaarthick and S Sreesanth, will miss the first game as they will on duty for the Board President's XI against the visiting England in Baroda.
