Presenting two such victims of Lambra village of the district before the media here, Ramoowalia, President of Lok Bhalai Party said the police was not registering a case against travel agents who were sending Punjabi women abroad by taking huge sum of money with an assurance to provide them a job.

Both the women, who are cousins, were sent to Cyprus by a woman travel agent by taking eight lakh rupees from each of them, Ramoowalia said.

After reaching there, both were told to get into prostitution, citing lack of any other work available for them. The women told reporters that police was not registering any case against the travel agent.

Ramoowalia said that he had a recent meeting with Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, who in principle agreed to constitute a three member committee, comprising Director General of Police (DGP), Home Secretary and a senior leader of Lok Bhalai Party (LBP) to probe the role of travel agents in illegal human trafficking.
