India has concluded negotiations with the International Atomic Energy Agency for safeguards agreement and the UPA-Left committee meeting will be held soon to decide the future course of action, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said.

"That stage is over now because that negotiation has been completed," he told reporters when asked about the state of talks with global nuclear watchdog IAEA.

The safeguards agreement, alongwith the NSG waiver, is a prerequisite to operationalise the Indo-US civil nuclear deal.

Mukherjee said the Left parties supporting the government from outside were told that it would come back to the committee once the negotiations are over to appraise it of the progress. The UPA-Left meeting will be held "shortly", he said.
