After his release from prison, Sharma told reporters that he managed his release with great difficulty and "would like to go home and have some rest."

Sharma (29), had inflicted serious injuries over Talwar's face and hands with the help of a meat cleaver.

Thereafter, Sharma was nabbed by local lawyers and police and was slapped with section 307 (attempt to murder) and provisions of seven Criminal Law Amendment Act and later sent to Dasna prison.

Since then, a lower court and a session's court at Ghaziabad denied him bail on the charges and finally the Allahabad high court awarded him bail last week with certain restrictions attached.

Dasna jail superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma said it was a challenge to arrange for the security and safety of the inmates while Sharma was at prison. "Sharma thanked the prison officials when he was about to leave," jail superintendent said.

During his release, Sharma's mother Indira Sharma accompanied him back home.

Both his parents are professors at the Banaras Hindu University. He is also stated to be suffering from 'bipolar disorders.'
