TDP leader murdered in Karimnagar

A minority cell leader of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was "brutally murdered" by unidentified men at Adarshnagar locality in Andhra Pradesh in the wee hours on Sunday, police said.

A minority cell leader of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was "brutally murdered" by unidentified men at Adarshnagar locality in Andhra Pradesh in the wee hours on Sunday, police said.

The body of TDP Minorities Cell State secretary Shaukat Ali was found in a pool of blood with head injuries at Adarshnagar locality here, they said.

The incident happened when Ali was returning home on a two-wheeler, Karimnagar DSP D Srinivas Rao said.

Ali was also involved in real estate business and based on the information provided by his family members, police were carrying out investigations, if the leader was murdered over any dispute related to the business, Rao said.

Police have registered a murder case and further probe is under progress, they added.
