Art and craft teacher, Prasanta Debnath (28) was watching a blue film on his laptop.
When the 8-year-old girl went to show her drawing assignment to Debnath, he drew her close and forced her to look at the screen. He also put his hand inside her dress and touched her private parts.
On returning home, the girl narated the incident to her parents who reported the matter to the Women's police station in Sambalpur, about 320 km west of Bhubaneswar.
"Debnath has admitted to his crime. We have also seized his laptop," sub-divisional police officer PK Mohapatra said.
Debnath, a native of Tripura, had joined the school a year back.
