A six-member police team from Kancheepuram left for Patna on Sunday for further investigation in the murder of Srinivasachar, manager of Vaishnava Uthirathi Mutt on January 20 last.

The mutt has its headquarters in Patna and the police hope to make some 'headway' by visiting Bihar's capital, police sources said.
Police have interrogated 25 persons in connection with the murder. A special team was formed under Additional Superintendent of Police Bhavaneeswari to investigate the case.
The team had been making enquiries among the farm labourers of the mutt, vendors who visited it daily and caretaker Ramayanji of Sriperumbudur Srivaishnava Mutt, who was present at the mutt when the incident took place.
