India managed to get the better of Bangladesh by 11 runs in the first one-dayer at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong on Thursday.

The Indian team returned to Dhaka from Chittagong on Thursday night while the Bangladesh team was scheduled to come back to Dhaka on Friday.

Bashar said his squad would have to be careful in the next matches because Bangladesh had a bad record in ODIs.

"I don't want to say that I am optimistic about future matches as we have a record of playing very bad cricket after a good performance," he said.

"I must admit I am happy about the performance we have shown in the first one-dayer in the series and I want to keep it for the rest of the matches."

Indian captain Sourav Ganguly said he was impressed by the performance of the Bangladesh team but India had controlled the match from the beginning.

According to Bashar, though the match was totally under the control of India the spectators were not as frustrated as they had been during the Test matches, which Bangladesh lost.
