Collage Group drubbed Quetta D.A.V. by 159 runs on the opening day of the Lala Raghubir Singh tournament, here on Wednesday.
Batting first, after winning the toss, Collage Group started on a poor note as the opener Adil Ahmed and Abhinav Kumar fell early.
Finally, it was left to Rajeev Uniyal to repair the damage. He hit two boundaries on the first two balls and could be seen hammering the bowlers at will.
Later, Uniyal along with Priyank Tehlan set the tone for things to come. The duo contributed in a major way towards the final score of 223. Though Uniyal fell on 54, Tehlan continued to push the scoreboard forward with leaps and bounds. Using his bat like flash blade he slogged the bowlers all across the ground hitting 13 fours and three over the fence shots in his impressive innings of 94.
Later, Collage Group bowlers Anuj Kumar and Waqar Ahmad took no time in ripping apart the DAV batting line-up, which could only manage 74 before being bowled out in 15.4 overs.
Anuj did the major damage scalping four wickets which even included Tejaswi Yadav. Ahmad finished with figures of 3-20.
In the other game, Sachin Sachdeva’s 54 went in vain as Delhi Gymkhana lost to Air India by five-wickets. Rashmi Ranjan Parida top scored for Air India, scoring 53 runs.
Collage Group 223 for 5 (P Tehlan 94 not out, R Uniyal 54) vs Q.DAV 74 all out (A Kumar 4 for 28, W Ahemad 3 for 20).
Delhi Gymkhana 129 for 6 (R Sahdeva 54, K Bhradwaj 34, I Ganda 2 for 22) vs Air India 132 for 5 (Parida 53, S Khan 35; S Sharma 4 for 12).
