We are a group of six, aged between 28-30, travelling to Hampi in the first week of October. How would the weather be? We will be travelling from Mumbai to Hubli and then to Hampi. How much will it cost to take a bus or taxi? Which places do we visit in Hampi? What kinds of cuisines are available, and are there good places we must eat at?

For six people, I’d suggest renting a Scorpio or Tavera or Innova. The price will range from Rs10-12 or more if it’s air-conditioned (not required given the present weather). Pick up a good guide book and explore the place well. I’d suggest getting a guide. A central point in Hampi is the market street leading to the big temple. From there, many of the places are within walking distance. All kinds of cuisines are available. There are some small places serving Israeli food and some bakeries in the vicinity of the big temple. As for the weather, it is going to be pleasant then but expect some rain.
