"What message do they want to send by killing a person having three daughters. This shows their real face," the DGP said.

An alert was sounded across the state soon after the news about Tete's killing reached in Ranchi.

The body of Tete, who was among the four policemen of the Bihar Military Police kidnapped from Lakhisarai district in Bihar on Sunday, was found this morning.

His wife and three children had gone to Patna to plead with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for her husband's safe release.

Lukas was the second tribal policeman who was killed by the Maoists within a year.

Jharkhand Special Branch Officer Francis Induwar had been killed earlier.
