The KMP project has been delayed by more than two years. Is the HSIIDC planning to take any step to tighten the noose around the concessionaire?
We are seriously monitoring the issue. We will shortly take an appropriate action. A meeting was held with the concessionaire firm last week.
What kind of action can the HSIIDC initiate?
We have the option of imposing fine on the concessionaire and that is what we are going to do. We had served a notice to the concessionaire and the firm has submitted its replies.
Has the inordinate delay caused any damage to the HSIIDC?
This is a mega-project conceived years ago to boost commercial activities through roadways between north and south India. The delay is definitely creating a big nuisance.
In view of the delay, is the HSIIDC going to put more restrictions on the concessionaire?
Penalty is of course part of the restrictions. But beyond that, stricter action needs to be taken so as to assure no further delay takes place. We are still mulling over the action. It is not to be disclosed.
The concessionaire is blaming HSIIDC over land acquisition as the major cause of delay. What is your comment?
This is not the truth. We are looking into the replies submitted by the concessionaire and it may take few days more to comment in this regard.
