Israel's 48-hour suspension of air strikes in Lebanon did not mean that the Jewish state was ending its war against Hezbollah, Justice Minister Haim Ramon said on Monday.

"The suspension of our aerial activities does not signify in any way the end to the war. To the contrary, this decision will allow us to win this war and lessen international pressure," Ramon told army radio.

Ramon is considered close to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and is a member of the nation's security cabinet.
