Here’s what the proud mothers say about three young achievers of the city:

Bindu Singh
(Mother of  budding Bollywood singer Vineet):

Vineet is god’s gift to our family. When he was just a kid, he could sing in perfect rhythm.

I thought Rafi had been re-born in my family. He was inclined towards music from the very beginning. He wanted to learn music at Bhatkhande. We paid his fees by cutting down on other expenses of our family. We are a middle class family and we always arranged money for his music with great difficulty. I purchased a keyboard, naal, guitar and harmonium despite limitations. I was confident that he would make a name for himself in the world of music but I never knew that he would do it at the age of 17. Believe me, I spent many sleepless nights worrying about his future as I had no contact in Bollywood.  I always used to wonder how I would be able to showcase Vineet’s talent before the world, especially before producers and music directors. I opposed his singing with orchestras as I wanted him to aim high. Thanks to Zee TV for identifying his talent and making him a star. But I am a proud mother, along with his father, of his sisters —Neelam, Poonam and Kanchan—and his brothers Deepak and Sandeep.

Arti Bajpai:
(Mother of singer Twinkle ):
My daughter was very mature and bright from the very beginning. My family is a sort of musical family and we all live in an atmosphere where music is everywhere. Twinkle was a disciplined girl right from the start. She was decent in studies, used to copy each and every thing which was shown on TV and could sing and act well without effort. In spite of problems faced by a middle class family, I sent my daughter to a convent school. I used to plan her work schedule in studies and riyaz. Today, I am a proud mother. She has done what I expected of her. Her brother Naveen and father Madan are also happy with our little star.

Rashmi Dhaon:
(Mother of golfer Shrishti):
I am proud of what Shrishti has achieved so far. The credit goes to her hard work and inspiration given to her by our family. I always accompany her to tournaments as I want to inspire her to give her best.

From the very beginning Shrishti had been strong. She was a good swimmer. Initially, she won the state and national titles in swimming. During the finals of swimming championship, she was not confident but I told her that she could defeat the then state champion and she did it. Similarly, once we went to the golf course, where men were playing. Someone remarked that it was not a sport for girls and she took it as a challenge and now, she is a champion golfer. I am also preparing my son Indra to become a professional golfer.
