Third batch of pilgrims leave for Amarnath

The third batch of 3,352 pilgrims left today from Jammu for the holy cave shrine of Amarnath amid chanting religious hymens escorted by the CRPF.

The third batch of 3,352 pilgrims on Thursday left from Jammu for the holy cave shrine of Amarnath amid chanting religious hymens escorted by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

The pilgrims including over 186 sadhus left in 107 vehicles from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Bhawan complex early morning.

With today's batch, a total of 8251 Pilgrims have left Jammu for the Amarnath shrine. The first batch left for the holy cave shrine on June 17.

The yatra cavalcade, guarded by the CRPF from Jammu to Pahalgam and Baltal camps, has crossed Kud area of Udhampur district.

The three-tier security set-up has been activated in and around caves shrine besides at base camps in Jammu, Pahalgam and Baltal, security officials said.

The Army has set up 97 area domination posts and the CRPF has been deployed on the yatra route.

As many as 2,13,007 pilgrims have been registered for yatra till today.
