Thousands of Oliver Ridley's killed, says NGO

At least 10,000 Olive Ridley turtles have died in the last four months due to illegal fishing by mechanized boats and lack of adequate protection, said non profit organization, 'Operation Kachhapa', engaged in the endangered species' protection.

The state government denies the estimates and put the death figure at 1500.
