Sources said that the explosion took place in the house of one Sagar Bhalla in Radha Krishna Trust building under the Sisamu police station at 10.30 am today.

The explosion was so powerful that the door of Bhalla’s room blew off and created a three-foot wide hole on the roof. The house also developed some major cracks.

Panic gripped the area and people came out of their houses in fear. While Sagar was seriously injured in the incident, two passers-by also received injuries.

Police rushed to the site and started rescue operation. Sagar was rushed to the hospital while the others were discharged after first-aid.

Police said Sagar was involved in illegal cracker business and was using one of his rooms for storing crackers.

This morning when he was checking cracker, it went off causing extensive damage to the house.

Later, police arrested Sagar and also detained his family members for questioning.
