Three Maoists killed in central Nepal blast

Maoist cadres were killed and two others seriously injured when a bomb they were carrying, accidentally went off in central Nepal.

Three Maoist cadres were killed and two others seriously injured when a bomb they were carrying, accidentally went off in central Nepal, security sources said on Tuesday.

The rebels, including a woman cadre, died on the spot in the explosion at Sarikhet area in Makawanpur district, they said, adding a two others, including a child standing nearby, were injured in the blast.

Meanwhile, the house of newly-elected Deputy Mayor of Ramgram Municipality, Ramesh Yadav, was damaged in a blast carried out by the Maoists, security sources in the district said.

However, nobody was injured in the incident as the Maoists asked the family members to come out of the house before exploding the socket bomb.
