Delhi and District Cricket Association handed over the tickets — 1500 of Rs 1000 denomination, 500 of Rs 400 and 50 corporate class tickets worth Rs 11,000 each — to Pakistan Cricket Board's general manager (administration), Javed Manj, who was in the country for the last two days in this connection.

Pakistan had asked for 5,000 tickets for the match, but DDCA was able to convince them with a "little difficulty" to settle for 2050 in view of the incomplete stadium and demand for tickets at home.

"Delhi is so close to Pakistan, so lot of people are interested to see the match. There is a lot of enthusiasm. So there will be disappointment for some of them," Manj said.

"But we know the stadium is not complete and so many VVIPs would be watching the match. We understand the pressure on the BCCI as well as the DDCA," he said.

Manj would be leaving for Pakistan later in the evening so that the process of applying for visa for the match could be started soon.

The Pakistani fans wishing to watch the match were required to produce the tickets before the Indian High Commission while applying for visa.
