What to do if you wake up on V-Day with a vicious red pimple? Do not rush to the parlour for a steam. “An easy way of dealing with a pimple is to take a towel and dip in ice-cold water. Place it on the pimple and make your skin freeze,” says beauty expert Shahnaz Hussain. Don’t exfoliate if a pimple is emerging, and use a clove pack to soothe the skin.

Those who have flaky skin must use a deep moisturiser the night before Valentine’s Day and in the morning. “If you suffer from flaky skin, refrain from using powder. Go for matt makeup. Those with oily skin should keep the makeup subtle. If your face looks dull, then exfoliate with an oatmeal or almond scrub,” says Divita Kanoria, beauty expert, Tathaastu.
Also, if you have oily skin, keep rose water handy. “Dab it with a tissue on your face,” says Kanoria.
Those with a combination skin and a shiny T-zone can try steaming their face in the morning. Add some soda bicarbonate to a bowl of water and apply to the face with cotton.
Bag ’em for sure
