TN announces Rs 5 lakh each for slain jawans' families

The Tamil Nadu government today announced an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of three army personnel from the state killed during operations against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir recently.

The Tamil Nadu government on Friday announced an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of three army personnel from the state killed during operations against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir recently.

Chief Minister M Karunanidhi directed that the compensation be paid from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to the families of the three jawans - Saravan and Panneerselvam of Tiruvannamalai district and Nagalingam of Sivaganga district, an official press release said.
