Top UNLF leader in 14 days of police custody

Chairman of underground United National Liberation Front Raj Kumar Meghen was on Friday remanded in 14 days of police custody by a court in Guwahati.

Chairman of underground United National Liberation Front (UNLF) Raj Kumar Meghen was on Friday remanded in 14 days of police custody by a court in Guwahati.

Meghen, a member of Manipur's erstwhile Royal family who studied international relations at the prestigious Jadavpur University in Kolkata, was produced at the court of the National Investigating Agency (NIA) which remanded him in police custody.

65-year-old Meghen refused to speak to reporters who were waiting in the court premises. According to the NIA, he was arrested from Motihari in Bihar on November 30 ending speculation about his location after his disappearance from his sanctuary in Bangladesh recently.
