The wired object reportedly fixed with a watch sent railway officials to a tizzy. They along with GRP and RPF men immediately rushed to the spot in a special coach.

A keyman, patrolling the tracks, found the object and reported it to the Control Office. ADRM Alok Gupta directed stopping other railway traffic from both directions. The object was later found to be harmless. It was probably a toy with a clock and that made it look suspicious. However, the scare delayed over half-a-dozen trains.

The affected Up trains were the Tamil Nadu Express which was stopped at Diwanganj for 3:10 hrs, Lucknow-Bhopal Express at Gulabganj (delayed by 2:30 hrs), Jodhpur-Bhopal passenger at Pavai (delayed by 2:45 hrs), Vindhyachal Express at Salamatpur (delayed by 2:50 hrs), Amritsar-Dadar Express at Mandi Bamora (delayed by 1:15 hrs) and Dakshin Express at Bina (delayed by 1:50 hrs).
