The callers get SMS from police informing about the status of any complaint or query registered by them. All calls received by police on '100' have been divided into three categories- inquiry, crime and information. The department also takes feedback from the caller to improve its efficiency and accountability.

“People often make complaints over phone and they are not aware about the actions taken on their complaints. Now to avoid this confusion and inform them that police have got their complaints this service has been started,” Alok Mittal, the joint commissioner of police, Gurgaon, said.

Police send ‘enquiry’ and ‘information’ calls response immediately to the caller. But those making crime related complaints have to wait till the response team visits the spot.

“If someone feels that his query left unsolved then he can check the police department's official website. We are getting good response from people about this service. Earlier people were not sure whether police have got their complaint or not,” Mittal said.

Mittal also said people should call the control room even if they have filed a complaint with any police station, so that they can get instant information about police response.
