Parents can now keep track of their children's progress at school as well as get regular updates and circulars through a new device.
Pinnacle Teleservices Tuesday launched R-Fi, a device that will enable parents to get regular information and updates about their school-going kids on their mobile phones, along with other relevant information from the school like notices and circulars. The cost of the service ranges from Rs.600-Rs.1,000 per year.
"R-Fi will help in bridging the gap between the modern urban parents and educational institutes. In today's hectic work culture, parents are not always able to reach the school to get information about their children. Now this application will solve this problem," Abhinav Bansal, regional head (north) of Pinnacle Teleservices, told IANS.
Six schools all over India have been given this device to test on its students. Two schools in the capital - Vishal Bharati Public School and Jain Bharati Model School - have started using it.
"We have already launched the system in our school and it is helping us to give information to the parents. We are getting good response from them about the system," said Ajit Solanki, chairman of Vishal Bharati Public School.
Company officials claimed they would be roping in 50 more schools in the city within this year.
