Ten bogies of Lahore-bound Karakuram Express from Karachi derailed near the town of Samasatta, about 500 kilometres west of Islamabad.

This was the second train accident in less than a week.

The Government has not ruled out sabotage as loose nuts and bolts were found near the tracks.

An inquiry has been ordered and the report will be made public. Senior railway official Mushtaq Jadoon said that the train was in good condition and there was no technical fault.

A passenger train had derailed on last Sunday near the eastern city of Jhelum, killing three people and injuring 50 others.

The Railway Minister had also described the previous accident as a sabotage. Several suspects were also arrested after the accident.
