A Mahindra-Bolero vehicle crossing an unmanned level crossing near Bargarh town was hit by the Bolangir-Bhubhaneshwar Intercity Express coming from Bolangir at around 4 pm, East Coast Railway's chief public relations officer JP Mishra said.

The official said several casualties were feared in the incident but the details were not yet known.

A team has been despatched to the spot, Mishra said.
