They damaged 30 private buses ferrying people from the coastal towns of Vijayawada and Guntur to Hyderabad.

The police were seen stopping buses near a check post where the Telangana region starts, telling drivers the buses might be attacked.

While more than 100 buses returned to Vijayawada, about 50 decided to brave the agitation and move in with police protection. However, as the convoy was nearing Nakrekal in Nalgonda district, protesters attacked the buses and police vehicles with stones. In the process, 12 persons including a police officer were injured.

Telangana Joint Action Committee convener M Kodandaram has warned that anyone plying buses would be doing so at his own risk. HTC
