Tribute paid to RC Sharma at meet

Prof. Mishra said that the personality of late Prof. Sharma reflected high ideals of life. “His sudden demise is a great loss to the academic field”, he said.

Chairman of Jnana-Pravaha Trust, Suresh Neotia said that the eminent scholar of Indology, Prof. RC Sharma (also former honorary director of Jnana-Pravaha) not only raised the Jnana-Pravaha to great heights with his untiring efforts, but also brought the institution to international scenario.

The Founder and Managing Trustee of Jnana-Pravaha, Bimla Poddar paying her tribute said that as an eminent scholar and a great administrator, Prof. Sharma not only gave different dimensions to the activities of the institution, but also established and ensured their high quality implementation. “Simple living and high thinking was the motto of Prof. Sharma, which he followed throughout his life,” she said. The honorary joint director of Jnana-Pravaha, Prof. Kamal Giri remembered Prof. RC Sharma as an unparalleled scholar of Indian history, art and archaeology. “His book on the Buddhist Art of Mathura School is highly appreciated at the international level by the scholars,” he said, adding “Prof. Sharma’s efforts to establish Jnana-Pravaha as an acclaimed centre for the studies and research in Indian culture will remain as a milestone.”
