Truck rams into train, 2 hurt
TWO PERSONS were seriously injured when a truck dashed against the 4854 down Marudhar Express at Ganeshpur railway crossing under Shivpur police station here on Sunday afternoon. The accident took place when the truck driver tried to cross the railway track and the train suddenly arrived. No casualty was reported by the police and the train?s passengers are safe.
TWO PERSONS were seriously injured when a truck dashed against the 4854 down Marudhar Express at Ganeshpur railway crossing under Shivpur police station here on Sunday afternoon. The accident took place when the truck driver tried to cross the railway track and the train suddenly arrived. No casualty was reported by the police and the train’s passengers are safe.
The train halted at the railway track, throwing normal railway traffic out of gear for several hours. The injured, driver and cleaner have been admitted to a private hospital at Harahuwa where their condition is stated to be critical.
High railway officials have rushed to the spot for relief work and to restore the transportation on Lucknow- Varanasi sector. The station master of Shivpur railway station has informed the Shivpur police in writing that gate number 9-C was closed at the time of passing the train but the driver of the truck, breaking the barrier, hit the train.
Locals had spotted three persons travelling in the truck but the police found only two persons, driver and cleaner, injured in the mishap. The third one could not be traced .
Man run over by car
A MAN was crushed to death by a speeding car on the national highway in Rohania on Sunday. Police have seized the luxury Cielo car but its driver managed to escape from the scene. The deceased has been identified as Ram Naresh, Block Development Officer of Mirzapur district. and a resident of Kachwa in Mirzapur .
According to information, the man was going somewhere on his motorcycle on the GT road in Kavleshpur area. Meanwhile, he was run over by the car. He died on the spot. Police have seized the body for post mortem examination.
