THE ONGOING tussle between chairman of Waqf Development Corporation and State minister Malik Kamal Yousuf and district magistrate (DM) Prabhu Dayal Shrivas is taking serious dimensions.

Panchayat members, block pramukh and elected people’s representative have decided to march towards Siddharthnagar to gherao the DM’s residence. District president of Lok Tantrik Congress and zila panchayat member Rajbahadur Singh strongly condemned the alleged objectionable remarks made by DM Shrivas in a public programme against the elected people’s representative.
Rajbahadur said the remarks passed by the DM were derogatory, immoral and were planned moves to mount pressure on zila panchayat members and block pramukh.
He said, following the appeal of State Minister Malik Kamal Yousuf, the panchayat members and block pramukhs would move to Siddharthnagar for saving the pride of representative and social workers.
On Thursday, Malik Kamal Yousuf created a sensation blaming the Siddharthnagar DM for hatching a conspiracy of his (Yousuf’s) assassination.
Launching his offensive against the DM, Yousuf blamed him of hiring a killer and in presence of SP Rati Sharma he had said that his statement should be treated as an FIR and police officials should take necessary steps.
It is noteworthy, that in a programme Siddharthnagar DM, Shrivas, had said that elected peoples representative have an affection for the member’s assembly funds and were least concerned about the welfare of the common man.
His remarks have shot up political temperature in the district and the ruling party MLA has raised the issue before the Assembly Speaker who also belongs to the same district. Sources said that government has decided to issue a notice to the DM under Rule 63 (violation of privilege to the elected people’s representative).
Though the DM had clarified that his intention was not to hit anyone’s feeling, he had made comments regarding the panchayat members. He said the charges levelled against him by the State minister were baseless and had left all issues on mercy of God.
