The Wadala police arrested a 30-year-old man on Tuesday, for allegedly raping a seven-year-old student who was taking tuitions from him. Sachin Waghlekar, a college dropout, was running tuition classes in Wadala for Classes 1 and 2.

According to Kadar Khan, senior police inspector of the Wadala police station, Waghlekar, after taking tuitions at around 10 am on Saturday morning, asked the victim to stay back for extra studies and allegedly raped her.

The victim informed her mother but she did not file a complaint, as the girl’s father was not in town. On Monday night when the victim’s father returned, they lodged a rape complaint against the teacher.

“We have arrested Waglekar on charges of rape and threatening. He was presented before the Bhoiwada court on Tuesday and has been sentenced to police custody till December 22”, said Khan.

On investigating the case we also found that Waghlekar used to have a bad eye for other students also. Some students have now come forward claiming that the teacher had molested them, added Khan.
