
Two hardcore Naxals arrested
THE POLICE team of Chandauli district claimed to have arrested two hardcore Naxals in an encounter at Sindautali area under the Ali Nagar police station in Chandauli district on Friday. The police have also recovered two foreign made pistols and huge quantity of live cartridges from their possessions.
The arrested Naxals have been identified as Shiv Shankar Yadav alias Rustam, son of Ram Surat Yadav, resident of Mustafabad village in Varanasi and Bhabhuti Ram alias Sudama, son of Baliram, resident of Hinaut in Chandauli district. Both were wanted in several Naxals attack cases such as Majhgai incident, Lauvari incident and Hinaut bomb blast.
A per information, the Ali Nagar police got information that some hard-core Naxals were on the way to Sindautali area. The police laid a trap at Jafarpurva area. Meanwhile, the police spotted these Naxals and subsequently signaled them to stop. Sensing danger, the Naxals opened fire on the police team and in retaliation the police team also opened fire on them and later arrested these two hard-core Naxals. Another accomplice of Naxals, managed to flee from the scene.
During interrogation, both of the arrested Naxalites reported to have confessed their involvement in the kidnapping of four employees of forest department from Shinkarganj area under Chakkia police station in 2004. SP of Chandauli district, RK Chaturvedi informed that both the arrested Naxals were wanted in the Majhgai and Hinaut bomb blast incident.
