Riaz and Javed succumbed to their wounds on Monday evening after they sustained serious injuries in the explosion, police said.

An unidentified person believed to be a militant attacked a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) patrol with the grenade. However, it missed the target and exploded at a crowded bus stand.

A hunt has been launched to arrest the attacker, Senior Superintendent of Police Manohar Singh told IANS.

The terrorist has been identified, Singh said without elaborating. "We are after him," he said.

"The attack could be a message that they are still active," Singh said.
