Two more burnt to death in Assam; toll 58

Violence against people of Bihar continued in Assam with two women being burnt alive in upper Assam's Tinsukia district today.

Anti-Bihari violence continued in Assam with two more persons, both women, burnt alive at Ledo Tirap gate in Upper Assam's Tinsukia district in the wee hours on Wednesday, taking the toll in the bloodletting in the state to 58.

Police said a 60-year-old woman and her grand daughter were sleeping inside their house, which was torched by unidentified miscreants at around 1:30 am.

The charred bodies were later recovered from the gutted house, police said.

With this 31 deaths occurred in worst-hit Tinsukia district in the anti-Bihari violence since November 15.
