Two nabbed in 'honour killing'
Two persons were arrested today for their alleged involvement in the 'honour-killing' of a woman and her four-month-old child, police said.

The gory incident occurred in Thammasandra village in Kanakapura Taluk on February 27 in which Deepika and her four-month-old child were allegedly murdered and their bodies burnt by her family members.
The arrested include Deepika's mother Gowramma and Deepika's maternal grandfather, police said.
They said the suspected honour killing was due to Deepika's marriage to a boy belonging to another caste against the wishes of her family. A hunt has been launched to nab Deepika's father Channaboregowda, who is a Head Constable, and Gowramma's sister and brother-in-law, police said.
After Deepika's marriage, her parents persuaded her to return to the village to see her ailing mother and on the day of her visit, her family members murdered her and the child, police said. Later, they burnt their bodies, they added.
