ALL PRIVATE agencies who have been allotted parks for beautification and maintenance purposes have been given an ultimatum by the Nagar Nigam Administrator Amrit Abhijat to complete their task by April 15 else these parks would be given to other organisations interested in the development of parks.

Though some agencies have already started work for improving the conditions of parks since their allotment one month back by the DM himself, majority of them have just fixed up their boards for publicity purpose and in fact nothing concrete has been initiated by them so far.

After reviewing the progress of beautification of park after the completion of one month of allotment, Abhijat who is also the District Magistrate said these parks would be developed on the pattern of Hyderabad.

About 41 parks have been given to different parties for their maintenance. DM clearly pointed out that if work was not completed then other parties would be allotted the beautification task next month. Meanwhile, ADA has been asked to beautify the famous historical PD Tandon Park while Bhardwaj Ashram Park has been given to Allahabad Nagar Nigam. On the demand of one newspaper group, Maharana Pratap crossing has been handed over to it. Traffic islands on eight main roads would be maintained by Jeevan Jyoti Hospital.

DM also requested the parties to install only two boards of their organisation at the assigned parks or crossings in the city area. Grill or fence of crossings or parks would have an uniform colour preferably green and the same height. Encroachment around Sarojini Naidu Children's park, Kalandipuram park and park near Vivekanand crossing would be removed. The DM ordered the Municipal Commissioner to do so at the earliest.

However, for the attractive maintenance of Swami Vivekanand statue crossing the Bhawani Papers Mills would be given an appreciation letter while  Bank of Baroda was warned for not taking any action to improve Subhash Crossing in Civil Lines. If the BoB fails to maintain it then this crossing would be taken back from the bank, said the DM.
