Rekha Yadav would file her nomination on October 11 in the presence of Uma Bharati. The BJP candidate Kapur Chand Ghuvara would also file his nomination papers the same day. The chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and several senior BJP leaders would accompany Ghuvara on the occasion.

By fielding Rekha Yadav Bharatiya Janshakti tries to ride Lodh-Yadav factor to counter BJP’s Jain card. The BJP hopes to garner Ghuvara’s vote bank in the Jain community besides its traditional ones. The constituency has over 20 thousand jain voters.

For the BJ it is Lodh voters, who would play a dominant role once again in the constituency. But the Lodhs and the yadavs in the constituency are traditional rivals.

The BJ would have to strive hard to cement the two sides for electoral benefit. BJ national general secretary Prahlad Patel exuded confidence, while talking to Hindustan Times that his party would achieve victory in the constituency.

On the other hand, BJP leaders feel that they would be able to turn the table on Uma Bharati with political novice Rekha Yadav in the fray from Janshakti.
