Dissatisfied with the interview process, members of the HBTI Teachers’ Association have moved the court for staying the interviews to start from tomorrow.
The institute authorities have also filed a caveat. The hearing of the case has been fixed on March 1 itself.
According to members of the association, the postponed interviews of the candidates under career and advancement scheme should be held first to enable them to get benefit of their promotion. They opposed the idea of holding interviews of several teachers of the institute after the current interviews.
According to teacher leaders, present senior teachers would lose seniority benefits if they were granted promotion after the appointment of fresh candidates.
The management on the other hand did not find any loss to senior teachers if they were granted promotions under the career advancement scheme at a later date.
Candidates who have arrived for interview are in a piquant situation. They said that even after qualifying for the interview, they would not be able to get the appointment letter due to legal complexities or the interviews might be stayed altogether putting them in uncertainty.
