THE CRPF personnel posted on the High Court premises had a tough time on Monday afternoon in dealing with an abandoned suitcase which initially spread fear of hidden explosives. Security personnel placed sandbags near the suitcase which was first discovered near the high court gate on the Kanpur roadside. Later with the help of a long rod which contained a hook the security personnel managed to lift the suitcase with a lot of caution and carry it to the adjoining cricket ground.

Security personnel placed sandbags near the suitcase which was first discovered near the high court gate on the Kanpur roadside. Later with the help of a long rod which contained a hook the security personnel managed to lift the suitcase with a lot of caution and carry it to the adjoining cricket ground.

Though the CRPF personnel informed the Civil Lines police about their finding, the cops reportedly pleaded their helplessness on the ground they were not equipped with a bomb disposal squad.

Such a squad is stationed in Varanasi and would take some time to reach the city, they told the CRPF personnel.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Maheshwari, a litigant from some outside district who had lost his suitcase at a PCO came over to see what was the commotion all about.

However, after seeing the same, he claimed his ownership over the abandoned suitcase. It was after he opened the suitcase that the high tension drama came to an end.
