Meghen, while being taken to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Guwahati on Friday, said he was arrested on September 29 "by Bangladesh intelligence".

Earlier, the NIA said Meghen was picked up on November 30 from a Bihar town while trying to flee to Nepal. The agency also said that Meghen managed to flee Bangladesh after his arrest there.

But Meghen's counsel, M Gunedhar Singh reportedly told the court that the UNLF leader was arrested in Dhaka on September 29 and brought to Bihar only on November 30 - the day he was reportedly arrested for the second time.
