UP minister dismisses bribery 'sting op'

The Uttar Pradesh government has found itself in a corner. This time over Samajwadi Party leader K C Pandey, who is also the newly appointed vice-chairman of UP Council of Sugarcane Research and the party's national secretary.

The minister has been accused of bribing a senior police officer of Gonda for the release of cattle traffickers who were illegally trafficking cattle for slaughter.

The case has surfaced as the SP of Gonda had allegedly carried out a sting operation of the whole incident.

However, K C Pandey has dismissed the allegations.

Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has assured of inquiry into the whole matter.

According to reports, on December 29, police seized a truck cattle in Gonda and 3 persons were also arrested for illegal trafficking of cattle.
