UPSRA convention on April 18

PRESIDENT OF Uttar Pradesh Stamp and Registration Association (UPSRA) SA Abbasi said here that the annual convention of association would be held in Lucknow on April 18 at Ganna Sansthan. Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav will be the chief guest on the occasion which would be presided over Cabinet Minister, Stamps and Registration, Harishanker Tiwari.

Secretary of the association Vijay Kumar Upadhyaya claimed that in the financial year 2005-06 the department had crossed the revenue target of Rs 2928 crore.

The department had realised Rs 3200 crore, which was a record. Responding to a question, he highlighted the lack of infrastructure in the registration department and said there was no proper seating arrangement in the registration department for the people. There were no bathrooms and urinals in the department, he said.

Upadhyaya said the income of the department was around Rs 300 crore per annum while the total expenditure was around Rs 45 crore. He said at the two-day convention the association would raise the demand for providing equal status to the registration officer at par with the BDO and tehsildar .
