A 60-year-old expatriate pilot who had joined Air India on contract recently, was found dead in his hotel room in a north west suburb on Sunday, police said.
The US based pilot, identified as Richard Robert, was found dead in his hotel room by staff at the Park Plaza hotel in suburban Goregaon Sunday morning, they said, adding it seemed to be of natural causes.
Robert, who was living alone in the city, had recently joined Air India on contract and was undergoing simulator training, a spokesperson for Air India told PTI.
"Robert had not flown a single flight yet and as per our information he had undergone simulator training the day before after which he had returned to his hotel," the spokesperson said.
His body has been sent for post mortem and his next of kin in the US have been informed about the incident, he said.
