Suhas Talukder, the founder editor of a leading Bengali daily died in Kolkata on Saturday.

He was 71 and is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.



Talukder started his career as a teacher of economics at Raiganj College and launched

Uttarbanga Sambad

, the first daily of north Bengal, in 1980.



Talukder was also involved in social work, specially for tea garden workers.
