V-Cs told: Bring about administrative changes

SAYING THAT a strong and dynamic administrative mechanism in the universities was the most important requirement to face challenges and expectations of the 21st century, Governor and chancellor Dr Balram Jakhar has directed Vice-Chancellors to bring about the needed administrative changes in universities during this academic session itself.

In a message sent on the occasion of foundation day celebrations of the Avadesh Pratap Singh University, Rewa, the Chancellor said the State was posting new achievements in the field of higher education.

Not only had the numbers of general educational institutions gone up, but professional institutes too had increased. The number of students was also increasing and new courses were being introduced regularly. To cope up with the fast changes, it was necessary to change the present system and no delay should be there is this matter, Dr Jakhar has said.

The Governor further requested academicians, parents and students to give maximum possible support to this process of change. Universities can play an important role in the bringing about progress and changes in their own areas and people’s support is necessary in the matter, he added.
