Union Textile Minister Shankarsinh Vaghela defended Bollywood actor Aamir Khan's stand on the rehabilitation of those affected by the Narmada dam project.
"The film star has the right to speak on the issue and his statement has not created any controversy, but it (controversy) was created by the BJP for political gains," Vaghela told reporters.
On the project, he said the dam's height should be increased but the rehebilitation work should also be completed within "proper time" by the concerned state governments.
