Kamlesh Chandra Tripathi, a lawyer, filed the complaint against Vaidik before additional chief judicial magistrate Tarun Kumar Singh who fixed July 25 for further hearing on the matter.

Demanding action against Vaidik, the petitioner has sought slapping of sedition charges against the journalist for meeting the 26/11 mastermind and his alleged remarks on the issue of Kashmir during an interview to a Pakistani-based news channel.

Vedic actions and comments have hurt the sentiments of patriotic Indians and are threat to the country's integrity and sovereignty, the petitioner alleged.

These are also an insult to the honour of martyred Indian soldiers, the lawyer said in his petition urging the court to summon Vaidik for taking action against him.
